Restaurants Soda Sanchez – Has the real Costa Rican flavour at a very inexpensive price. The home made meals are delicious and in large portions. This is the place to gauge how far your money can really go. Having only about six tables inside and 4 tables outside it is very small. In fact the kitchen is about double the size of the dining area. It does a large take-out business with the local Costa Ricans. Soda Sanchez is located across the street from the bus station and down one block to the left. Just past Monges Appliance Store. La Cubanita - This is another inexpensive Costa Rican restaurant with even lower prices and great tasting large portion meals. This is my favorite place to eat. Very friendly service. Arroz con Pollo - regular size
Arroz con Pollo - large size
Casado Vegetariano - regular size
Miguelito's Pizza Express - Great tasting American style pizza. The crust and cheese are what you would expect from a pizza in the US. Moderate prices. Located behind the Bus Station. L'Angolo - Italian Restaurant and Deli with good tasting sandwiches and pasta. Moderate prices. Located across the street from Dos Locos. Kukula's - Terrific tasting Costa Rican dishes. Moderate prices. Located on the Main Ocean Highway, about 200 yards past Cafe Milagro or 100 yards past the bridge. Acai - Smoothies, shakes, sandwiches, wraps and light meals. Free WiFi with food or drink. The shakes are good on a hot day. Loctated above Super Mas - across the street from the bus station. Sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. La Roca Caliente or Hot Rock Bakery - Has the best cinnamon ring. European owned. Inexpensive and addictive. My favorite desert. I call it SINamon and for a 1000 colones they are as big as a loaf of bread. Free WiFi. Located on the South side of the soccer field and 25 yards West. Mike the owner is friendly and always cracks jokes. Fruteria and Soda la Feria - The best fruit and vegetable stand in Quepos. If you are lazy like me you can buy chilled water melon, papaya, pineapple by the slice. Prepared take out hot dishes at low prices. I love the fried sweet plantains and mashed potatoes with onions and cilantro. Located beside Pali Supermarket. Marisqueria Jiuberths - I have been told this is the hidden gem of the Fish Restaurants. The owner is a fisherman and his wife does the preparation. Though not really known by tourists this small establishment serves what is called the best tasting fish meals. The portions are large. Now located on the way to the airport, a taxi will be needed to take you to and fro. http://www.maryheebner.com/thework/editorial/local_dives/localdive2.html
